OUR FIRST CAPSULE STARTS IN KAWAKAWA

Following the launch of our new franchise system in September this year, we have established our first ever Coffee Guy Capsule franchise in Kawakawa, Northland with our latest addition to the franchisee team, Marty Edwards.

From 7am to 2pm Monday to Friday, Marty is operating a drive-thru in Kawakawa’s Johnson Park, which is on the corner of State Highway 1 and State Highway 11.

This is the perfect location for people travelling north for the summer holidays – State Highway 1 goes north to Kerikeri, Kaitaia and beyond and State Highway 11 goes to the Bay of Islands.

Marty began the new drive-thru on December 6, and was super excited to get underway.

"I was chomping at the bit...couldn't wait to get started," Marty says.

While he has had no previous experience making coffee, he has had a lot of experience drinking it.

"I always wanted my own business and I'm passionate about coffee so it seemed like a no-brainer," he says.

Marty has completed a week of barista training at The Coffee Guy HQ and has just started his on-the-road training with his Franchise Manager, Greg Cornes.

"I am still really excited, mainly because of the interest of many locals and tourists. There have been a lot of encouraging comments about the quality of my coffee and the Capsule."

Marty not only established the first Coffee Guy franchise in the Far North, but also the first Coffee Guy Capsule.

This smaller franchise system was developed in response to a demand for franchises in areas that aren’t suitable for a mobile coffee van, such as Kawakawa. The franchise system differs slightly from that of the mobile coffee van. Instead of delivering coffee to business from Monday to Friday, the Capsule will operate from a fixed location. But like the van, the Capsule will keep the coffee coming for people at musical festivals, sporting fixtures and other events.
